What LtL jobs are home daily and make over $2000 weekly?

    I was just having some fun. She’s not the jealous type. Like I said before, she doesn’t want me out all week bc of the kids. I don’t want to leave them either. It’s bad enough I work nights but it’s enough to get by and keep her at home to take care of them. Hard thing to do nowadays, especially in a blue state.

    Since he didn't answer I'll just say most LTL freight companies pay that kind of money running linehaul. My last bid was an easy 10-hour night (max) and paid around $1,800/wk. That run was 482 miles, 2 drop/hooks, and a half hour on a forklift (which most of our runs don't require). Home everyday. Our drivers with top bids gross over $2k/wk working the same number of hours, just driving. This is at Dayton Freight.

    Some LTL P&D drivers are in that $1,500+/wk range as well.

    Yes LTL P&D averaging 50-53 hours a week. To gross $1800 that will be 60 hours week. It happens in the summer when busy.

    I'm kind of already used to working 60hrs/week at this point. It would be even better to be getting paid for all of that. So, yes. The linehaul outfits like ODFL and such probably would pay this if you found a position at a terminal you wanted to get into. I've been stuck on the food-grade tanker thing for several years now and feel I've pretty much topped out.
    Almost got on with ODFL out of Albuquerque a couple of years ago. But got bumped out of the hiring due to an influx of transfers from a higher COL area. Only thing on my mind right now is getting my pickup truck note paid off in short order. I'd like to keep that possible by avoiding a move to a higher COL area where a raise in pay would be mitigated by inflated rents(Denver and Austin areas.).

    So here I sit, getting a measly, two trailers unloaded a night at the powdered milk place in Canyon TX. Counting them sheep for the moment.

    Yes they do.

    I graduated CDL School last Wednesday. Went to a SAIA Hiring event last Friday . Got an offer to work their Dock to Driver program on the spot. Trying to convince my wife it's NOT a bait and switch scam job. ;rolleyes;

    I've seen several with Dock to Driver programs. Not sure how they view recent CDL grads..... other than what I've experienced with SAIA.

    I've seen that; LTL carriers adopting "dock to driver" programs the past few months.
    Some freight haulers and tanker companies that used to require 1 or 2 yrs. experience are now hiring new cdl grads.

    No, but seriously. I agree. The MORE companies know WE KNOW what their competitors are offering the better it is for us. Without a doubt. It would be great to view a spreadsheet of what companies compensation rates are and be able sort and compare them.

    From my limited time (couple of months) researching the compensation rates of trucking companies shows me that they are NOT (yet) serious about addressing this driver shortage. All they are doing currently is throwing crumbs around to potential new hires and giving the appearance of actually addressing the problem.

    Until it starts hurting the Greedy Corporate pigs at the top things will not change.
