Exactly. Not to mention that the Pre-emptive strike lost us all credibility as the global watchdog. It would have worked if we had gotten out after capturing Saddam, but we just had to mind everyone else's business and rebuild the ruins at our expense as usual.

We've become the teat to be drained dry and left behind. More debt isn't going to shore that up.

I never agreed with are going into Iraq. It should of been done the first time when we were protecting the sovereignty of allies. The government makes the same mistakes they always make. Instead of going to war with all out victory in mind. They go to war with limited objectives to avoid collateral damage and propagate social change.

You go in, you take care of business and you get out. Social change should be their decision to make. Not ares to force.

No, this economic crisis was brought on by BUSH DRAGGING US INTO A THREE TRILLION DOLLAR WAR BASED UPON INFORMATION THAT HE KNEW WAS FALSE BEFOREHAND, AND THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT PROVES HE KNEW IT BEFOREHAND!!!! AND AS A RESULT, NOT ONLY IS THIS COUNTRY IN A DEPRESSION WORSE THAN THE ONE OF 1929, BUT OVER 4,000 OF OUR BRAVE SERVICEMEMBERS HAVE BEEN BRUTALLY SLAUGHTERED AND MERCILESSLY MURDERED IN A WAR WE SHOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN IN!!!! WAKE UP!!!! IRAQ HAS NEVER ATTACKED US!!!! IRAQ HAS NEVER EVEN SO MUCH AS THREATENED TO ATTACK US!!!! THEY NEVER HAD ANY WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!! THEY WERE NEVER IN CAHOOTS WITH AL QUIEDA!!!! THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO US ON 9/11!!! THAT CRIMINAL TERRORIST MURDERER GEORGE "PSYCHOPATH" BUSH INVADED A SOVEREIGN NATION UNDER COLOR OF AUTHORITY WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROVOCATION WHATSOEVER-A NATION THAT POSED NO THREAT WHATSOEVER TO US-AND IN DOING SO, VIOLATED ONE OF THE MOST BASIC INTERNATIONAL LAWS!!! SO STOP SUGARCOATING THIS SITUATION AND START CALLING AN APPLE AN APPLE!!!! IF WE DO NOT ARREST, TRY, CONVICT AND EXECUTE GEORGE WALKER BUSH FOR MASS MURDER AND OTHER WAR CRIMES IN VIOLATION OF NOT ONLY U.S. LAW BUT INTERNATIONAL LAW, THEN JUSTICE DOES NOT EXIST, AND WE WILL BE MAKING A MOCKERY OF THE ENTIRE JUDICIAL BRANCH OF OUR GOVERNMENT!!!!:biggrin_25516:

I saw no mention of the particular problems of this war...like Vietnam, they don't exactly wear uniforms...and if the "shock and awe" barrage and the subsequent training of the Iraqi forces wasn't an attempt to 'win' this, then just exactly what is it we should be doing different?

Bush was ABSOLUTELY NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER, doing what he thought best for the country, and that is a fact, not merely my opinion!!! If he were, he would never have invaded Iraq and sent all of our brave men and women in uniform unnecessarily into harm's way!!!! A truly good president, who truly and genuinely has the nation's best interest at heart, would NEVER send America's sons and daughters into battle unless there were a GENUINE THREAT to this nation's safety (that's why President Obama is pulling our boys back out of Iraq again, because he clearly and obviously does have the country's best interests at heart-undoubtedly at least one of the reasons why he currently enjoys a 60-plus percent approval rating, while Bush's DISapproval rating upon leaving office was, I think, in the mid-high 70's or low 80's, if I remember correctly), and as I have already stated, there now exists PROOF that clearly and undeniably verifies that Bush KNEW, BEFORE WE WENT INTO IRAQ-not after the fact-that there existed no danger to this country from that nation and that there was no clear, compelling and pressing reason to believe that we were in any danger from them. He claims Saddam had WMD's. No, he did'nt have WMD's, and Bush knew that, yet he sent us there anyway. He claimed that Saddam was attempting to procure enriched uranium to develop WMD's. No, he was'nt trying to get enriched uranium, and once again, Bush knew that, yet he sent our troops into combat anyway, for no legitimate reason. And as I said in my other post, Iraq has NEVER attacked us, nor have they ever even so much as threatened to attack us, and Bush knew that too. He knew these things BEFORE he ordered our troops to invade Iraq (because that's exactly what it was, was an invasion, not a provoked couterattack or a pre-emptive strike as he claimed), and yet he did it anyway. Why? Because he was trying to protect us? No, it was'nt because he was trying to protect us. He had no interest in protecting this nation whatsoever, and that lack of interest was, by the way, in clear violation of his oath of office. He sent our military into that country without justifiable cause for one reason and one reason: becasue he is a warmongering, bloodthirsty, psychotic, mass-homicidal lunatic terrorist right to the core-and I daresay, perhaps an even worse terrorist than bin Laden, and that's really saying something, because bin Laden is one of the worst of the worst. In fact, we now know beyond any shadow of doubt that he knew about 9-11 before it happened (the now infamous Downing Street memos), and I would'nt be surprised at all to find out that there exists somewhere some proof that he had some sort of a hand in it-I mean, like I said, the man is a psycho nut job, what can I tell you? Now, had I been the president of the United States during that period of time, I would have never in a hundred gazillion years ever dreamed of sending our fine military men and women into Iraq UNLESS, and ONLY UNLESS there WAS clear and undeniable proof that Iraq posed some real and true danger to the citizens of this country. Becuase that's what our military is for, is to defend this nation from the threat and the attacks of our enemies worldwide-that's the whole reason our military exists-but ONLY, and I mean ONLY, if there truly is a real and genuine and legitimate threat. And if there ever really were a situation like that, I would not hesitate, as commander-in-chief, to order our military forces into battle, for that is the very purpose that they exist for, to defend this nation and to keep it safe from those threats. Not for a second would I hesitate to defend this country's safety in that way. I mean, as president, you do have a responsibility to safeguard this nation and its citizens from any threat from within or without our borders, I totally grant you that-it's part of the sacred oath that every president must take before he can enter into that office. But part of that responsibility also includes not deliberately placing our troops into an environment where you know there's a good chance that some or all of them could be killed by our enemies unless you know that there is, in fact, some real, tangible, immediate and present threat to our nation's safety and security from our enemies. You don't just go riding off with our forces going, "Wahoo!" and waving your Stetson in the air every time you get a sudden adrenaline rush and feel like flexing this country's military muscle and trying to be the big bad bully kid on the block that takes everyone else's lunch money. Now, Afghanistan I can agree with and I don't have any problem with that war, because by now everyone knows that Osama bin Laden was the terrorist mastermind behind what happened on 9-11. We have tapes that have his clearly identified voice on them where he's talking to his cohorts or reading a message to us, that prove that he was behind it. And we had firm, solid, reliable intelligence when we went to Afghanistan that he was hiding out in the caves there-a hell of a lot better intelligence than the garbage excuse for intelligence that falsely alluded to the fantasy that Saddam Hussein was in posession of, and attempting to develop more, weapons of mass destruction to use against us, or anyone else for that matter. And knowing that bin Laden was behind 9-11, it is perfectly reasonable to fear what he could be planning next and want to go over there and take him out before he has a chance to execute another attack on our soil-after all, 3000 some-odd innocent people were brutally murdered and slaughtered like animals that day, people who posed absolutely no threat whatsoever to bin Laden or his country or his beliefs or anything else he held dear. They were just everyday, ordinary citizens-mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers-whose only "crime" was to go to work that day in an attempt to provide for the needs of their families. Now, why have we not yet found bin Laden? Where is he now? Is he still even alive? Well, obviously I don't pretend to know the answers to those questions-hell, if I knew where he was I'd go over there and put a bullet in his brain myself for what he did to us-but I'll tell you this much, I really like the joke I heard that says that Bush could'nt find Osama bin Laden if he was hiding out in the Rose Garden! Unfortunately the sad truth is that Bush has not been looking for bin Laden, because the Bush family has been in bed with the Saudis for years-in fact, it was the Saudis that financed many of Bush Sr. and Bush Jr.'s business and political ventures-and there is proof of that as well. It's all documented. Watch the movie "Fahrenheit 9-11", a documentary by Michael Moore-and watch the end credits at the end of the movie. All of the sources of that proof and documentation are detailed there. Also, read the book, "The Prosecution Of George W. Bush For Murder" by the legendary attorney and prosecutor Mr. Vincent Bugliosi. And if, after watching that movie and reading that book, you still believe that I am full of it, then there's no hope for you. You know, the saddest part for me is that I used to like Bush. I used to think he was a pretty good president, and I did think he had our best interests at heart and really wanted to protect us, and I used to get into arguments with other people all the time defending him just as ferociously as I am condemning him now, and defending his so-called legitimate election to the presidency over Al Gore in 2000. It was'nt until after he took office for his second term in 2004 that I started learning the truth about Bush and who he really is and the real story behind the 2000 elections, behind the B.S. public relations smokescreen. But, see, I was willing to take my rose-colored glasses off and the blinders I myself once had on to the world around me and see the truth for what it really is. And now that I have seen that truth, now that I have seen the proof of what an evil, wicked MONSTER George Bush really is, now, my hatred for the man knows no bounds. I abhor him for what he has done to this country and around the world. I loathe him and detest him with every fiber of my being, and if anyone ever does have the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing and try him in a court of law for the horrible crimes he has committed, I will offer my assistance and do everything in my power to show the world the real George Walker Bush for the despotic madman he truly is, and if that trial ever takes place, believe you me when I tell you, the evidence against him will be overwhelming, and he WILL be convicted for thousands and thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of counts of murder, and any judge or jury with even a pea's worth of brains, in light of that massive mountain of evidence, will hand down the sentence of death against him. And on the day he is lawfully executed in prison on death row, as soon as the prison physician officially pronounces him dead, my wife and I are going to Outback Steakhouse and we are ordering the biggest, fattest, juciest cut of prime rib we can get our hands on and we are going to celebrate and party our butts off, and we won't stop for a month, because at this point in our nation's history, that is the absolute best thing that could possibly happen!!!!
