2012 D13 volvo with I-shift wont go in reverse

My 2012 D13 Volvo with I-shift will not go in reverse when I am hauling a heavy load, otherwise it will drive just fine. Can someone please help!!!!! What could the fix possible be?

 

I was at Volvo dealer last week when a guy came in with the same issue as you. Tech told him it was an internal problem with the clutch packs inside.

 

If you have the premium shifter try the R2 instead of R1 for a test.And let me know the result. Ben

 

Intetesting...there aren't any internal clutch packs, it's got a computer operated clutch on the input shaft, maybe it's hanging up?

 

I was standing right there when the guy walked in and wanted to get his truck in ASAP, this was last Friday.

Service counter guy said there’s no way we can get you in today or this weekend probably next week, but he told him what was going on and said Truck will not go into reverse and that’s when the service tech guy said it sounds like you have a clutch pack problem internally.

 

It does work with R2, how come this is happening?

 

Tell me when you use the foward gear in manual mode are you able to use all gears even and odd gears ? Ben

 

It works fine in R2. if i just reverse in R2 will it be fine or will it cause more damage?

 

In other words if you use manual mode with the shifter are you able to use all gears. 1 up to 12 ? ?
