I’m Sure We’ve All Known This But It’s Just Coming To Light

I’m really surprised by this revelation. Those people at the DOT and FMCSA always seem so sharp.

 

Maybe says something about the people you hang out with? What sort of silly and unrealistic ideas do you think would come from people who've actually done and know first hand what can and can not be done,that those who have no clue haven't come up with already?

 

No. Just the DOT. I'll fill the entire Department with truckers that have 10 years or more.

It's one thing to live out life as a nobody making noises or whatever and it's all gone in the wind. Quite another when one gets to power. How in the world those numb nuts got to the top of FMCSA and execute policy without a inch of touching a big rig boggles my mind.

 

I don't know about the "Silly truckers." all I know is that the freight has to get there when it gets there safe. None of this waiting two months from Asia on the ship and then immediately 2 days across the USA with plastic disposible retail crap that will take a month to sell on our store shelves. Something is broken in our entire industry and it has to stop.

Starting with the racing to the minute against ELD's for fear of violations and so on.

In Jefferson's time it was in writing. With actual facts by state. Somehow it turned into a circus show in my lifetime. I still remember that of Reagan when he called the USSR a evil empire. It was quite a different time. '84 Able Archer comes to mind.

 

I'm thinking that one of the questions asked during FMCSA administrators job interview might be, "Have you ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express?"
