No sir. If I take my foot off the pedal and go back to it, it'll run 85mph no questions asked. Just stumbles randomly.

Whoever dreamed up that model name of maxxforce has managed to win the Worms Gasworks Factory to get the golden ticket to make all of the preexisting issues that created this abomination of a brand name to go away.

Well guys, I too have an International ProStar with a Maxxforce engine, and am having the exact same issue as the gentleman in the original post. The truck rides fine besides this 15% loss of power (which is a world of difference when fully loaded going up an incline) after 5 to 10 minutes of running. It has been going on for at least a month now and it's only bothersome to me when I see any sort of incline in the road approaching. At that point, I just cycle the key in the ignition: quickly turn it off and then back to the on position, and the truck resets itself and I have full power for another 5 to 10 minutes. I really would like to know what is causing this problem though, as my temporary method of resolving the issue may be causing more damage to the truck in the long run, which equals more money I'm going to have to shell out to get it repaired down the line.
One common theme I am noticing about this issue from my research, which I don't know if anyone has noticed yet, but the SPN code that is thrown, SPN 524285, is present in almost all cases of this happening. Matter of fact, if you google search SPN 524285, the first results you'll see have to do with International ProStar Maxxforces having this low power issue. So even though this code supposedly does not have anything to do with engine performance, it is blatantly apparent that it is linked to the problem.
Also, I have 6 of these trucks, same year and model with the same engine and almost all of them have had this issue. Coincidentally, they all have been deleted as well about 8 months ago, and all of them started with this low power issue sometime after the deletions work was completed. So I believe that has something to do with it as well, seeing that we had the trucks a couple years prior to the deletion, and even though we had a flurry of problems before the deletion, low power was not one of them.
Hopefully this post can revitalize this conversation and possibly make a resolution to this issue public info, as it is a nuisance at best to have to keep cycling the key every 10 minutes while on the road. -
Ron,
I'm hoping you are notified about this message. I was wondering if you ever figured out a fix for the low power issue you were having with your truck. I have a 2014 ProStar doing the exact same thing, even with the cycling of the key giving it an additional 5 to 10 minutes of full power. What did you end up doing about the issue? -
That code is for a failed or non-communicating SART module. It by itself will not cause low power, but it can confuse the engine with clock time and set false codes. Many times the SART module just needs a new battery to correct this code. I would try that first.
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -

I appreciate your help HeavyD, you are a godsend to us truckers. On behalf of the community, thanks for all of your help throughout these years. I will try to see if the battery needs replacing, and let you know if this fixes the issue at all. -
I replace my SART module battery and still can't get the active code to go away. This thing is becoming a nuisance.
