Then I would suggest when it comes to take the pistons out of the liners check everything and reload them. Been more than a few horror stories

I liked knowing how the rings were positioned, the wrist pin clips and oiling the pistons myself. It's just reassuring how things are put together. The seals on the liners were also better than the Cat liner seals

Here is what I have just learned.
The CAT oil cooler is $800 and made in China.
After market $400 made in USA.
CAT harmonic damper made in China is near $700.
    Viberatech made in America $450.
Why pay more for Chinese made so CAT can rob your pockets?

When assembling your pistons , separate the pistons from the liner , than weigh the new pistons and rods , and pair them to match the companion piston, and rod close as possible.

Cat stands behind their product. So basically you have a whole aftermarket motor that isn’t even cat anymore?

Only if a certified CAT shop does the work. The actual parts warranty isn't worth the paper its written on if done anywhere else

For what cat parts and labor costs I could have my e model done twice, out of frame. Everything I put back into mine pistons, head, bearings, injectors is all aftermarket and seems to be working fine 10k miles later, we'll see what I think in a 100k miles.
