I never run the truck to vacuum the system. I don't have a fancy recovery machine. Just a vac pump and a set of gauges. Vac with truck off. Bottle on a digital scale. Let as much freon as possible flow in before starting engine. Run til high side reads 220. Usually that will do it assuming there's no problems with the expansion valve. Your mechanic is as unqualified as everyone else you seem to work around.
He used a machine to vacuum it down and refill it. But I dont know how much he put back in. So if its overfilled am I screwed until I get back up there?
Last week, I think I saw a 99 for sale with Buds. My 98 KW has Alcoa’s. DJ had a 95 KW with Alcoa’s. Why did Pete seem to use Budds longer? Or the the buyer just not get the Alcoa’s option?
That's a nice place. Is that big tree going to provide afternoon shade over the house? That porch is the best part.
My old boss is a phenominal mechanic and their repair shop has a very good and long standing reputation. They just dont know jack about running a trucking co any more. My new employer is a great co but their mechanic isnt a genius by any means. He does all types of minor repairs, but anything remotely complex gets farmed out. I should have just kept my mouth shut about the ac and Id have been better off.
Has the same face as my Lab when the bubbles come out. Porch Honkies tonight. Would be much nicer on one like @superhauler pad! I must have misplaced the invite, hmmmm
If you ever get hooked up with a company that can dispatch and has a good mechanic I don't know WTF you'll post about. Better start looking for a decent restaurant that can serve photogenic meals I guess...
If he messed it up the first time I wouldnt have high hopes of him getting right on the next go round
