Another question for you guys. For guys like me who have a very small operation. If our truck breaks down and truck will be out of service for more then few hours, we have to call the broker for a rescue, correct?
Depends what you're hauling and how bad it needs delivered. If it's going to be 1 day late usually no big deal. You do not HAVE to relinquish your trailer to another carrier to deliver the load. It would be making the best of a bad situation.
no more so than a normal shipment if your referring to you eta to the port, its pretty loose, they don't really want you there before your eta, anytime after is fine, i have put in a eta of approximately 1 hour before i could actually possibly make it there, then ran out of hours and took my 10 before getting to the port, and showed up there 11-12 hours after my eta no issues at all.
Even a tiny 30 dollar desktop printer I use, scanner fax etc is very thirsty. It wants a inverter direct to battery. The newer laptops should not have that much draw, but suspect the CPU's TDW wattage ratings are equal to that of or more than the 120 watt incandescent bulb.
Yep usually, but a trucking company can get a FDA account also. Let's say a trucking company has found a market in the USA for a Canadian feed product but the Canadian producer doesn't have a account. Rather than lose the opportunity, the carrier can create the paperwork.
