So on my way to Columbus OH and came skidding into the Indiana Welcome Center on I-74 on fumes for drive time. Jacked up parking set up but plenty of spots. Then I see a sign saying “Overnight Parking or Camping Not Permitted”. Is this for us drivers or for the RV’ers?

Either way I’m staying because I got a cherry spot and perfect for hood preservation, just not sure if I’m sleeping like an outlaw tonight.

Sad that they have to put up signs like that because you know some losers decided to camp out at a friggin rest area lol.

They used to have rest/picnic areas on state highways near where I live, but they removed them all years ago because apparently gay guys were meeting there and getting it on :angry7:

It is more aimed at people living in their cars than truck drivers.

It seems that many rest areas have that story attached to them.

No telling if any are actually true. At least in the last 10 years.

My brother took a road trip out west and camped at a rest area in a sleeping bad. Some random dude tried to climb inside lol. So probably true

Those signs are all over the country at rest areas if you pay attention. It cracks me up. If you're driving something with wheels down the highway and you need to get off the highway and 'REST', then you use a 'REST AREA'. Who can define how much rest you need to be on your way? Is this written down somewhere?

It doesn't matter if it's a car, truck, airplane or locomotive, if you're driving it and you need rest you pull off at a rest area until you don't. I would love to have a cop argue me in to getting back on the road when I don't feel rested.
