Are there backup cameras for the back of the trailer yet?

How about a portable backup camera that can be instantly attached to any trailer or tractor right before docking, hooking up and/or parking?

Is there an indicator on the dash that shows which way the steer tires are pointing?

Knowing where the front wheels are pointing are key to backing a trailer to a dock.

What's so hard about backing? Just do a lot of practicing till you get it in your head.

If you need a backup camera to back under a trailer you should not even think about driving a truck.

    I found this video:

The quality of the equipment signal needs to improve.

Ideally, a backup camera should be completely portable, detachable and easily move from one trailer to another as in the case of drop and hook. There should also be a smart radar to give the driver precise distance from the dock in feet and inches. Another smart technology would be a warning to the driver in cases he drops his trailer and forgets camera attached to the trailer while bobtailing away.

This is the 21st century, you know. Times are changing. My theory is backup cameras will save time, money, energy, fuel, wear-and-tear, time, guesswork and damage to vehicles and property. Old school truck drivers will still call it cheating.

You can mount your own temp backup camera, but you change trailers A LOT. Besides most of the problem are the corners of trailers, not the rear bumper.

If you mount one, my advice is mount it near front right corner of trailer looking to rear.

Because it's the 21st century doesn't mean crap. You know what you'll end up with then, "truck drivers" who won't be able to back with their mirrors when the camera quits, which will happen at some point. If you can't back up your trailer without wrecking ####, a camera is not going to help you anyway.

So somehow YOU think it's better to watch a camera when you back up and not look at what's going on in front of your truck, how about the front corners of your truck... what about where the drive tires are.... what about the front and back corners (both sides) of your trailer.....

Your driving why would you need some pice of JUNK to tell you witch way your steers are pointed... your driving....

And as to a radar to tell .e how close to the dock..... I have a mirror and EYES
