Once again, the team runner asks the solo guy what the problem is with the HOS rules.

Im confused here, he never asked the solo guy why he was out of hours, they were going to relay for him cuz the solo guy was out of hours. There is no one company out there that runs 100% legal. Not even werner who does e-logs. I've talked to them and they still have a way around them. So don't just get onto JCT because we're the only company out there right there with plenty of loads for their drivers...

Well I did have 1 other little screw up that they talked to me about concerning about how long it took me to get from 1 place to another. Just flat out mislogged it and should have took a hit for that. However, I do stand by what I said about being put OOS for how I logged at shippers. Just telling you what they told me. Like you, I also do the .25 just now I put all the rest line 2.

I get my neat little sticker every 90 days like clockwork. I volunteer. Not only do I get my neat $25 "gift," but I'm doing what I can to help the safety rating. I started volunteering long before I came to JCT. I single-handedly brought the safety rating for the company I was with up by quite a bit. I laugh when I go look at it now as it's been steadily falling since I left. (BTW, you can also request level 3's. Go in and ask a question about logging. Talk to the officers. Most of them have no problem writing a level 3 up, and if there is something wrong with your logbook that you missed, they will usually show you how to fudge it better!!!)

You know, I never thought about doing something like that. Cool idea.

You know, I've read every post from the start of this thread, so I read your back messages. Please don't take this the wrong way, but in MHO this sounds more like sour grapes.

I admit I don't log 100% legal, but I don't go out of my way grab extra hours. A little fudge here and there and if I get nailed on it, I have nobody but myself to blame for it. ***I*** run my business and ***I*** take responsability for what happens. Simple as that. As long as I'm communicating well with my dispatcher, there should be no misunderstanding about where & when I should get a load. And yes, I drive solo.

I agree that this sounds like the proverbial "sour grapes". Keith Sally is an up front individual, and tells it like it is without pulling any punches, the "old school" way.

I have felt NO PRESSURE to run any way other than how I CHOSE, not how anyone chooses for me. If you want to run the miles, they are available. If not, they will keep you as busy as you want to be. Communication is the key. Tell them what YOU want and what YOU can do, and they will do it for you.

If you need to be "micro managed", you need to be somewhere else. A simple matter of, "I need to reset" works wonders. We all know what needs to be done, so lets' just do it and make some money.
