    Question on time off

Are you able to take time off unpaid if you don’t have any vacation time?

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

my dc will let u. but the gtm will honor all others first that has the time. you could take leave if its that much time off. just be back before the bid starts tho. if you are out after that bid is done. you get the left overs

Hey man. Thanks to you and everyone else here giving us the info on what to expect in Onboarding I am nervous for the change but confident in my ability to adapt to the WM way. Any more information on how to prepare or what to expect is appreciated. This Florida boy is not looking forward to Arkansas weather the first week of December but it’s only temporary.

question about the bidding. I had a driver tell me last night that anyone on extra board or who doesn’t have an assigned truck doesn’t get to participate in the bids. We basically just get the left over crap. Is that true?

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

the bid is for everyone. your gtm puts all jobs into a bowl. the #1 driver bids first. then so on until the last person. its pretty cool. fill out your bid sheet like you are the #1 driver.

    T.Rucker Thanks this.

you get a bid sheet with all the schedules on it a few weeks before hand. Some guys used to just fill out their request sheet and hand it in but i preferred to call in on my time slot then i can find out what's available. I don't usually give advice but if i did it would be don't put too much stock in what senior drivers say they are going to take so don't assume it's already gone when it's your turn.

Like Truckdriver31 said, fill out all you want not what you think will be available to you

Oh i do miss the suspense of bidding time :D

Thanks for the advice! I know it’s a few months away but I’ve heard a few senior drivers talking about bid time so it got me thinking..,.
