So I'm looking to move to Midland,TX this Sept or October. My girlfriend literally moved down there yesterday from CT. I'm going to finish NETTTS up here for my class A but I was wondering how is the trucking industry in Texas or that part of the Country? I don't have a clean criminal record but I have a clean driving record. I'm not so much worried about the criminal history I know alot of driver's many of them are my friends with records and they are driving, I'm more concerned with the trucking industry in the Southwest.
Trucking is booming in Texas. No problem finding work in that state. Lots of oil field work around Midland for cdl drivers. Must possess a valid Class A driver's license with tankers and hazmat endorsements. Must have a previous commercial driving experience, or have graduated from an accredited commercial driving school. Problem with this outfit is you live in a man camp, not at home.

Does your girlfriend work full time. Because your not supporting both of you on 18 bucks an hour in midland tx. Oilfield pushed the cost of living way beyond that. Oilfield is in the tank, but the prices are still the same. Felony means nothing, all kinds of crappy oilfield Jobs around midland. They might be a little more picky right now Because it's slow, but when it gets going again, They don't care who you are as long as you have The class A. They hire the locals first. It's just easier on them. Change your license over as soon as you can. You 2 can make it, but she's gonna have to work If you want to do anything more than just pay rent.
She's a CNA and her sister works for a chemical company that works for the oilfield. Her sister already has a house tho should be ok
Would u recommend going OTR when I get out there? Cuz that's an option. But I'm not leaving to go there until September
