I have a question. I got a brand new 579 with the 80 inch bunk. I moved in over the weekend and my sheets won't work. The mattress in this thing is 85 inches long. What do all of you do for bedding? Longest fitted sheets I can find are 80 inches long.
Trade that truck in for a 389 , problem solved ! Just joking , I would call peterbilt they must have a supplier.
Bad thing is I came out of a 389 for this one. Called Pete and they laughed and said how should we know....the hood is going bye bye I think. Bossman mentioned maybe getting a couple before they discontinue them in 2017. He had bought a few 579s prior to this one. Ordered them pretty stripped down with small bunks, engine and straight 10. This one has the 80 inch bunk, nice interior package, big engine and a 13. It seems like a nice truck. Time will tell
The 389 isn't being discontinued , it will be a special order only and you will pay dearly to own one. At least that's what my Peterbilt dealer told me. I'm not against the 579 I actually like it. But I will never part with my 07 379
