I have a friend he just runs drop and hooks for them. It’s not his truck so I don’t know if he knows what the rates are but. There’s a lot of people doing it. Can’t be too bad especially for someone who doesn’t have a trailer or their own.
I've been seeing a lot of Amazon Prime trailers here in Jersey, today I saw the new warehouse in Carteret, NJ, all I can say is HUGE! Oh yeah, they put the kabash on the one they were supposed to build in Long Island City, they're saying it's political and they're going to sue..
Get that thought outta your head the rates his company book are terrible and he's running dirt cheap. I got us set up direct with them during peak and it was such a disappointment looking at the garbage rates they have that none of us ever booked one. There's no negotiating any of it they just have their cheap rates posted on every load. I know lots of people love having rates spoon fed to them like that, well there you go Amazon should be your hero. Amazon are the kings of beating down rates and do it like pro's. They advertise all the cheap hauler buzz words "light loads, drop/hook, plenty of miles and (lousy) fuel discounts" and will sign up anyone. Amazon is a cancer on the trucking industry that hasn't really paid worth a #### for about 5 years now. Actually they are a cancer on many different industries sometimes they dont even bother to profit in segments just so they can corner markets.
Well said right there. King of subsidizing their costs off the backs of hard working little guys who either don’t know better or think it’s cool to pull for the richest man on earth. How do you think he became that rich? 10 for me, 1 for you, 10 for me, 0 since you weren’t paying attention, another 10 for me, 1 for you.
