Can a person with an artificial knee obtain a DOT card? If so, what has been the general attitutdes/policies of the trucking companies towards hiring one who has one?

I would think so prior to this I was a surgical technician.I did mostly total joint replacements. I cant think of one good reason a total joint would disqualify you.It would probably be best to check with your surgeon and see what he says just to cover your bases but if you can pass the company's physical agility test I would think you would be fine.:iroc:

I agree, the ability to pass the physical agility test with a new joint should be the deal maker. The technology makes the replacement knee 'better' than the one you were born with. But, I would guess that the hiring company woyld have to make the final call.

If you can pass the physical I don't see why not.
