So I have a llc and ein under one name. I want to start my authority process under a different name. So do I have to change llc and ein name to match the authority name? Anyone have llc and ein under different name then the authority name?
You just do a dba. Its fairly common. If you don't want to do a dba for your authority then you'll have to change it.
You’ll put your company name and then mark the dba and put that name. It’s been 13 or 14 yrs since I’ve done it though. I see it frequently so know it’s possible. People WILL be able to see the company name though if they look up your mc number.
I believe the authority has to be under the same name as your LLC, but you can operate under the dba. You can just put the dba name on your truck and you don't need to list the LLC name with it unless you want to. Been a while for me too, but I believe you list your dba on your corporate articles as well.
