A few months ago, I was talkin to an intermodal driver out of Kansas City (I am intermodal out of Chicago) and I asked him about how he liked the super singles on his truck, which he said were ok. He then proceeded to tell me that the truck was an automatic. So in a round about way of telling a story, yeah there are some automatics at JB but will the fleet go all automatics? Only time will tell. Personally, aside from that one truck, I haven't seen any, so it could only be a 'test' truck.

It's most likely a test truck because in Harrisburg we don't have any automatics and the new freightliners we are getting in are not super singles and they are all 10 speed manuals. We only have a handful of super single internationals.

A number of the local trucks in Chicago have super singles too.

Yeah, they idle 10 minutes before shutting down when the temp is above 20 F and below 70 (I think it was 70, not a 100% on that). They got the Esbar bunk heaters for what it's worth.
