Allison 6 speed is the best transmission.

I’ve driven both setups and both are good but I give the edge to the D13 with Ishift

If you refer to the Underdrives, Yes I like them. But boy are they slow building up the required air...

The Freightliner D12 has downhill mode. I think it's a nice option. They call is Descent Mode. You tell the computers how fast downhill you want to go. It holds that speed. It over rides cruise control setting in of 5mph over set speed. You set it for the speed you want and let the computers and transmission do all the work. It work for for 30mph and up

It has a clutch you push with your foot too.

Like swamprat said. Takes 5 minutes to get to 60. Never knows what gear to be in and will start and 1 and shift all the way to 8 before you leave the parking lot.

many of us have said this before...LEARN on a stick. especially if you do not currently have your CDL, cuz you do not want an automatic only restriction on your license.

now if you already have your CDL with no restriction, then go ahead and get a job with a company that has automatics.

Yes the automated trans has a clutch... But the older ones (10 uears ago or more) still had a clutch pedal... The new ones do not.

I've read that Mack is a subsidiary of Volvo now but Macks are considered the bargain basement version that ride and perform worse than the Volvos in every way? I've seen only positive comments about the Volvos, like the ride and drive like butta!
