Plenty in California, and British Columbia have lots of Arabs and Indian drivers. You'll find many more Indian as opposed to Arab/Muslim, many more Sikhs.
There are plenty of everytype out here...trucking pretty much mirrors the melting pot of this countries make up......Keep yourself clean....act like a professional....and nobody will notice... good luck
If you run a chemical tanker you cannot have a beard and a moustache can only extend to the edge of your lips. When dealing with some products you are required to wear a respirator and it must fit air tight. Sure don't want to inhale some of the things we haul.
They make a positive displacement mask for people that have beards. I do not know if they make a PD mask for the type of hazard you may have to deal with? BTW if have not shaved a few hours before you need to wear the air tight mask it will not seal because if stubble. This should all should have been told to you when you went thru school for emergency use of the mask. And yes I went thru a 2 day course for Asbestos abatement and have a beard. Where I worked they would not buy a PD mask so they could not tell me to do removals but as a manager I had to make sure others were doing the removal right and why I went thru the course. Dave ----
Most companies don't really care about beards. The big thing is Hygiene when the B.O. is overwhelming it hurts my nose. I don't know about you but it sure sucks waiting behind some one who stinks up the receiving office.
