If you live in Buffalo,NY and work for Regent Corp of Lancaster,NY hauling mail, they will screw you every chance they get, both on your pay and vaction along with your health and welfare pay. They run junk equipment and always try to blame the driver if the junk breaks down.If you get D.O.T. inspected they they do not pay for the tickects either, and leave the driver hanging for the fines and tell the driver that it is his responsibility to maintain the equipment and that if something was wrong they should not have driven the truck or pulled the trailer. They refuse to maintain the equipment or buy oil and other supplies to keep the trucks and trailers operating, if you complain they tell you to buy it and turn the receipts in and they will repay you, this does not happen!!! When you ask for your money they tell you that you were not told to purchase it so you are out of luck. The supervisor is a scumbag who runs the show and always tells the drivers that he can fire anyone he wants at will and is backed by the scumbag that owns the company!! Also if they call you in on your day off and you refuse to work they hold a grudge and start looking for ways to make you quit so that they dont have to pay for your unemployment. If this does not work they eventually fire you with a note on your pay check and will not tell you in person. This the worst company ever!!!

Most of them are first, second or third time poters here, and then after a few weeks, they just disappear into cyberspace, never to be heard from again. Makes me wonder how many of them truly are truck drivers.

I know of a company that is local that doesnt do any of this. Home daily, 5 day week. BUT, you need hazmat and a clean record. I drive for them and they are fair

I kinda agree with you on how people hear ''local'' and they may sometimes forget to ask important questions.I've done it myself. But,let me ask you a question. If most OTR outfits weren't lying, cheating, bottom feeders with piss poor miles, why do you think people are so anxious to get away from them?

Maybe after a few years of bouncing from different color truck to different color truck, but experiencing the same shabby treatment that seems to be expected when driving OTR..

Stuff like,Oh, 7 hour unpaid waits for loading and unloading, being 1,900 miles away from your house when you were scheduled to be sitting on your sofa.Sitting two days in a sweltering Mississippi truckstop that reeks of piss while you wait on another 500 mile load.

When people complain about some of this stuff, they are told,'' trucking ain't for sissies.'' Oh..O.K..So this is some sort of character deficit on the part of anyone who doesn't like pissing in a Gatorade jar for days on end and who actually place value on their time and wish to be paid for it?

Aren't people supposed to expect the employer to furnish oil for their equipment? Would you have thought to ask during orientation at a mega carrier ,''who pays for the oil?'' Wouldn't you take it for granted that they would? Wouldn't you expect somewhat decent equipment that didn't demand a lot of close scrutiny?

Would you have thought to ask during orientation at a mega carrier ,''who pays for the oil? Yes I would have and I have asked in the past as I also looked over the equipment and walked from a few job offers.

I did my stint with the MEGA carriers ( back when Werner was a GOOD company as well as FREYMILLER to drop a name or 2 ) today I could care less of what they do , have my own operation.

So many today see a truck and listen to a few promises and thats all it takes , heck DANGLE the keys to an old PETERBILT in front of many and they want to work for you.
Thing is 50% would fail at whatever they did and blame the employer.
