Been on the road for a little over a year now. Have been through about half a dozen various types of Bluetooth headsets and keep having one problem or another with each one. Can anyone tell me what the best one available is? I see a lot of drivers with the Blue Parrot headsets which are the more expensive ones. I had a Motor Trend bought from Pilot that lasted quite a while but all the sudden just quit working. I have a Cobra over the head model that I keep as a backup. Most times, the person on the other end does not come through clearly. I have a Celltronix $50 model from Petro that worked fine up until yesterday and it just all the sudden quit working. Would like to find one that has good noise cancelling, will allow me to hear the other person clearly, and will last me a while. Appreciate the help. Thanks.

That's probably been your problem, buying cheap stuff that doesn't hold up. I've go the blue parrot over the head headset and have no problems to report. It's worked great and does a tremendous job at noise cancellation. I've had the jawbone and a motorola unit in the past, but they just didn't cut it for me. These over the head units stay in place and are plenty loud. You'll wind up turning the volume down! Hardest thing I had to learn was to not speak loud when talking in a noisy environment. Folks on the other end can hear you just fine.

The Cobra and Motor Trend units I bought weren't cheap. The Motor Trend was around $100 and if I remember correctly the Cobra was at least $80. The Cobra still functions as well as it did when I first bought it, but the two biggest problems I have with it are that it takes forever(compared to some models) to turn on and connect to the phone and I have a hard time understanding what the person on the other end is saying...even with the volume all the way up.
I know the Blue Parrots typically run over $100 and I know that with items like these you usually get what you pay for. I only bought the cheap Celltronix unit cuz a friend of mine recommended it. Guess I should've remembered that he's the world's ultimate tightwad. Lol.
How long have you had your Blue Parrot and does it power on and connect to the phone quickly? When I'm waiting for a phone call I like to have the headset on my head but turned off and then turn it on when the call comes in. The Celltronix was great for that. Only took a few seconds to turn on and connect the call once I push the button. Thanks.

    Worth every dime.

That one looks like a McDonalds drive-thru set even more than the Blue Parrot!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I can get the Blue Parrot unit from Amazon for less than I can get it from any truck stop and that's including shipping so I'm gonna go that route. I have a headset that will get me by til then. Thanks for the tips guys.
