You probably have to prime the engine...or spray starter fluid into the air cleaner while you try to start it.
I got a detroit like that. Ran it out of fuel. Dumped about 10 gallons in and filled the filter about half full. Couldn't get it to start. Sprayed ether to it and couldn't get it to start. Sprayed too much and engine wouldn't turn over. Yes I was quite nervous lol. Put about 20 more gallons of diesel in, let it sit a while and it fired right up. Thought I had locked it up. I hate using ether.
Adding to my post, my truck pulls out of the drivers side tank. If I get low on fuel and park on a hill with the passenger side down, all the fuel runs to that side and it won't start. If its on a incline make sure you add on the drivers side
I did that once, woke up took off and ran out of fuel. Switched to right side only and got it going. Sounds like he lost prime.Never should have blown air through it. Now you’ll need to hook up air to fitting on air compressor , or if not available, use a mini air compressor with the end cut off and a hose clamp or some sort of adapter on the tank vent to air tanks up. crimp off other vent. Only need a few ( less than 10 should be enough) to get it primed up again. Hopefully codes will disappear. Something tells Me only half the story is left out here. Was it running fine, in the first place or throwing codes? Probably injector harness problems or ???
Because its low on fuel now its time to drain both tanks and clean them till the inside of tanks are clean, you can use a steel rod and bend it then put a clean towel on the end of it wash the bottom of tank then pull it out to clean it and do it till all trash is off the inside of tanks?
