i replaced my injectors back in july with a set of used mbn's. truck ran ok but now two of them are gone, luckily i have a spare truck so this one can stay inside until i have a set, my question is where should i get them from or where is there a reputable shop to get them rebuilt? dealer is closed already so ill have to wait till monday. Its a 2003 t800 c15 MBN, 1,050,456 miles on everything stock flashed by diesel doctor in effingham , slowly saving up to buy a crate engine
That'll be real nice but those are for hard to come by I found me a. 6nz for $18.5, with a nice cam and Mr Haney's outstanding work I believe ill have a nice truck to go to work with
I'd just get reman injectors from cat since you don't plan on keeping the motor. Ironic my mbn is only 10k less miles than yours. What's the details on this crate motor?
We all know how much CAT dealers charge for their rebuilt injectors. So I searched for shops which rebuild CAT injectors before and found couple places that claim they can rebuild injectors for a fair price. One place in FL www.dieselsoup.com Another in TX www.electrodieseloftexas.com Personally I did not use any services from either one of those but it would be interesting to know if anybody used their services and could share their experience here.
I don't know if prices will be different between 10r1000 or 10r0957 but I think ill end up buying them from cat sincethe truck I'm driving will be picked up next week by the buyer, do you guys think ill need to buy the injector tool and the torque setting on the injectors? I was out of the shop when my dad and his friend changed them out .The 6nz I found a guy in laredo has plenty of those brand new he said most guys that have electronic engines down there have 6nz mbns and acerts don't exist down there.
that price sounds a lot more realistic , this guy said he can get the engine running on the stand and show me because i told him i wasn't gonna make the trip down there and come back to put on the engine and find surprises, I was talking to my dad and i don't mean to disrespect anyone but the deal sounds to good to be true so i think engine is stolen or something, in mexico they need a receipt with engine serial for the engine if the engine is swapped or they have a lot of trouble with the police. I been studying my options so i went to visit my neighbor (Tom Hibrar) and he has a 2WS for $4500 with $2000 core i could probably work him for $5000 and no core ( this man goes crazy when he sees cash) and do the in-frame myself little by little when i have time. Right now im running from Hartford WI-Decatur IL everyday if i get lucky i load the same day and load the next morning so i can switch the plates to my cabover and run her while i finish the inframe, but for know im gonna use the other truck and call CAT about my injectors and try the other places and see what the difference is thanks you guys for all your help
