I'm really surprized... They prefere so old rigs. May be they really have problems maintaning new trucks.
they dont have money for new trucks and new trucks are not so robust as old one , also many things can go wrong on new truck so basically you can get more money for SK than actros lot of 4x2 tractors exported from my contry are converted to leaf suspension also check this one or any other gallery on toprun there is plenty them http://www.toprun.ch/truck/2010-01/ch/#id=Lastwagen%20in Südamerika - Iquique Chili&num=4 but most interesting is ex jumbo 6x2 actros ( which used to pull 2axle tandem-central axle trailer ) now converted with another body on it and trailer i have seen one in Saudi Arabia and one in Bolivia
And the new trucks cost a lot more in maintaining than the older one's. The new trucks have also more software/electronic.
interesting detail 1844 SK Zugmaschine ein Auflieger mit 90 t Ladung alles Eisen und ein PKW oben drauf 90ton of load +tractor+trailer that is for sure more than 108ton(240 000lbs total) that is about 25ton on drive axle and on each trailer axle which is 55000lbs by Khalill-1838
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVVsVvsGAu0&feature=fvwrel it is a road for COE trucks only..... I cant imageine conventional trucktor with 53' trailer there
complete south and south easy europe is like that and norway thats why i said that is even 16.5-18.75 too long , best for that road is drawbar combination
Ore b-double. My friend purchased Hunday B-double and tows it with Scania. Turning radius is smaller then draw bar combo
I know what is better))) trucktor + 20-25' semi trailer + 25' draw bar traoler ore short semy trailer with dolly axe Backing is the real art
