hm. 45000 was retail for those things in that model year I bet. That's reaching a bit too close to the moon. It is NOT a BAAAD tractor just one that at some point you want out of that one into a conventioal, they ride so much better. They can in the right mindset handling of power, shifting and wheel be a brute in stunting. John Candy rode one that supposidely had rocket fuel on. Which was done pretty convincing in the movie using a old obsololete diamond 4 digit to cover a form of a fuel infused resin glue type mix that burns so hot. They pretty much blew the neighborhood on 100 pounds of the stuff with a precut tanker.
C’mon I thought you guys were tougher than that!! You guys tangle with saltwater crocs,taipans,funnel-web spiders but you can’t handle a Freightliner Argosy???!!
LMAO!! @Studebaker Hawk has had his Argosy since it was brand spanking new(the truck in his avatar) and that truck is probably pushing 10 to 15 years old!
My Argosy was built Oct 5,1999 and I put it in service March 30, 2000. It presently has 1.9 million miles on the chassis. Reman DD series 60 at 1 million, still performing flawlessly. 3 clutches, the 13 speed and rears have never been disassembled, just oil changes. I am satisfied with the outcome, and look for many more miles. Thanks for asking
I would rather tangle with a salt water Croc. My cab over scania at 1.2 million went better and didn't rattle. Drove a brand new argosy and after 15 klms couldn't wait to give it back.
Sadly Scania has all but disappeared here in the US. There’s a reason why Freightliners are called “Freight Shakers”!!lol New or old they will vibrate!!!
