    Sorry ,only saw this now.
The 442t we have comes out of a 2635.
We will have to see if there is place for the twin turbos under the cab.
Add an inter cooler and see how it goes.

    it is 442A actually

    not T

that should be best mercedes engine in terms of power fuel economy and durability with unmatched reliability.....too bad that they come without intercooler

it is pretty lazy to pull but once it in motion nothing can stop it very flexible engine and good for hills

we have one it is 1987 engine was still never opened

problem with it is you can literally feel how stronger it is in morning comparing to normal thats why would be great if they put intercooler on this one

if you are in possibility to get one from SK 38 this is very good fuel saving machine

You know in my country the letters get a bit confusing.
In the 80's there were sanctions against South Africa and as a precaution the government built a large engine factory.
Generic Mercedes engines were built (Perkins as well).
These were known as ADE (Atlantis Diesel Engines).

They changed the lettering on some models.
It was odd to see Mercedes engines in ERF , Scania , Mack , International , MAN , Oshkosh , Foden ,Iveco,Toyota,Nissan and a few others.
The engines were of the same quality as OM motors and very cheap to run and maintain.

The nose is to high and wide in my point of view. There is also second one, but they still building it. But there are model kits (1/24) of that nose for sale.

sometimes it seems to you that there are vision problems till ypu are on driver's seat.

I'd add mirrors on hood. They help, really help

wide, tall and long hood would be good for bigger engines. I sugest this one got Paccar MX, but enought room even for over 20L up to V12 monsters
