I am looking for a camera system thats also a recording device that i can install on my truck. I saw a truck that had one mounted on the windshield and the on the side mirrors. I`ve seen ads for camera sysyems that cost over $2100 . Does anyone know of one thats cheaper than that?
There's another thread on this subject, I use a digital camera that acts as a webcam when plugged into the USB port. I use software that is availble as a down load for about $20.00, my computer is mounted on a mount from First Mobile Technoligies, the camera is mounted on the post between the windsheilds and it's saved my butt a few times.
Here at JB Hunt, they have a video they love to show us at just about every safety meeting of a guy, one of our former drivers, that had a webcam mounted just behind him, on the bottom of the top bunk. They have great footage of him as he is rear ending a car sitting at a red light. You can clearly see him toss his atlas from the steering wheel to the jump seat after the rig comes to a stop. What a dummy. Goes to show you that video you take can go both ways, they can use it against you if they get a hold of it.
Do a google search on dash cams, there are units that record on an XD or SD card and cost less than $100.00.
