The one before they had the burner head. Pre '07 I believe.

I had an 07, like I said earlier it pulled like a freight train, I lived how it sounded, and it was really reliable. I have had pre EGR detroits, they are my first choice for an engine, a 6nz would he second, but if i had to choose a first tier emission engine I'd have another c15 nxs over the ddec4 14liter 60 series. They are hard on fuel and parts are pricey, but no EGR valves and coolers and no Vpods to keep changing. Mine had the starter wires chafe thru and it unfortunately met an early demise. The truck was, out of 6 now, one of my favorites.
Not the cheapest to run, but it was a great truck. IMG_0319.jpg

Wow, that sucks. I know when Cat went to that burner head thing with the sparkplug, that was the beginning of the end for them.
I have a 6nz in mine. I like it very much.

    You mean 05?

I think the last truck engine was in maybe 2010? The SDP had the ARD set up I think.

It's kinda funny, much of our heavy equipment has that as well and we really haven't had too much in the way of problems with it.

    The aftermath....
3 months after making the last payment, rebuilt the APU, new clutch, 2 new Atlas Seats, new rubber all around....all within a month, and poof....expensive day. IMG_0003.jpg
