I am going to school this month however, I was able to retain my teaching job. Will the license be good for a lifetime with refresher courses along the way???
So I would never be required to pay for school again? I see people mention having to go back to school because they were gone for 4 or 5 years.
well not entirely....you will have to keep up with your DOT physicals as well, as they will be linked to the CDL. if you do not provide an up to date DOT physical, your license is supposed to be "downgraded", but downgraded to what type of license i cannot say for sure... refresher courses "along the way" would be a waste of time/money if you do not apply yourself to a job, so at that point, a refresher or perhaps a full course all over again will be needed should you actually decide to make the plunge. personally, since you really do not want to do this, why even bother...??? its money better in your pocket than in the school owner's....because you will need that DOT physical...!!!
After you quit or retire from teaching, a refresher course may be required, depending on the kind of work you are trying to get into. Fresh out of school grads probably have a better chance than 5 yr no exp CDL holders, since the info is fresh in their minds.
oh no you will have to go back to school if you ever want to drive, once you pass the 90 day mark from getting your cdl. But the license itself will still be valid and active, you just wont be hireable to 99% of companies until you go back to school. American Trucker
I already paid for it and it is something I have wanted to try. It will be nice to know it is sitting their if teaching does not work out for me. I am thinking of trying to drive a bus seasonaly if I cant go OTR
CDL expire? I am going to school this month however, I was able to retain my teaching job. Will the license be good for a lifetime with refresher courses along the way??? Please tell me you did not ask this question.
again.....the absence of driving may be reasons for you to be ordered back to school, bus, truck, whatever.....you just ain't gonna be winning anything....it's going to cost you.
