So I am considering getting the Cobra 200 gtl. Anyone have any info about this radio? Yes I know it is a ten meter and requires blah blah blah, and yes it will be converted to the 11 meter band. I am just curious about the radio and could care less about what a ham nazi has to say about how it is against the law.

They work, but overall their pretty cheesy.
Sloppy knobs, buttons and switch's,single knob echo(no reverb) and no talk back.

Plenty of reviews to be had thru GOOGLE and other radio forums,
personally there are better built options from Connex,Galaxy and RCI for the money.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will just save up a bit more for a better quality radio.

Just crack the box on any Connex and your two up on that Cobra from the Get Go.
    Comparing the 46T to a 200 GTL is like a 46T against a 43/400.(smack-down)
The 46T is well above the 200GTL in price

Straight 4 pill,1X4,2X4 pretty much anything your pocketbook can pay for.

It would be wiser to go with a lower model like a Connex 33 HP,Gen Lee etc and dump the cost difference into your forward power source and a sweet little Predator 10K antenna.
Whatever brand of forward power you choose make sure
its AB class and not C. You get much cleaner audio from the B class.

In my own opinion a President Madison base is a much better radio if you can find a good one.
I borrowed one many years ago and liked it much better than the 2000.
I still may try to find one.
