what could this be? Any help I will appreciate it.

That sounds like the code for whip out $15,000 and get in line at the dealer. Boy I sure wish I had new trucks.

 

sounds like a bad def doser valve . .. pretty easy fix . coolant and def lines and a couple bolts. take off passanger side fairing/step to access it....

First thing to check with anything emissions related, is the wiring harness and connector/plugs. Make sure no corrosion in plugs and no damage to wiring

 

Engine serial number?

YMM of truck?

Without looking it up. The return valve is in the dosing unit/DEF pump. Remove the connector from the pump and check for DEF leaking into the electrical connector. Or you have a wiring issue between the pump and ECM.

you got it right. The return valve was replaced. kinda expensive tho.$900 for part 300$ labor.

 

if you think thats bad wait until you need a new dpf or egr cooler.
