Can check engine codes be tripped through an ELD device?

    No.
If the Computer managing the engine has thrown a active code it will store it in it's own memory.

ELD just tracks your hours and a few other things. Let's not try to make it into what it is not.

Nothing is said about allowing or not allowing.

I read your question as a question related to codes created by the truck vs your ELD device.

My answer is this: The engine computer retains it's necessary and active codes if any, your ELD takes care of logs. However your ELD knows exactly what the engine is doing so you cannot cheat and creep around under it.

I've heard hardwired Qualcomm used to interfere with truck. But that was old systems.
