I had never even heard of them until today. I saw 2 of their rigs going east on 40, and while they did outrun me (not saying much when i am governed at 62 and pulling 79 up a hill) they didn't appear to be the best equipment I have seen out here.

They have been really Sloooow. I know a couple of guys that have quit them because of lack of work, low miles. They dont pay the greatest either, think its like 1.00 loaded and .85 empty for owner-ops. .34 cpm for company drivers. Owner-ops have to furnish their own plates. They have a pretty weak fuel surcharge too, So i am told. I know they have on-board recorders,(paperless logs)and when your time is up, you gotta shut her down then and there.

    Hope this helps.

Does Mike Smith still own them, or did he sell out and just run things now.

Hey there 112racing I know a bit about them. I have never worked for comtrack but I have run loads in and out of their depots and have talked to their drivers and o/o's. They are a good company to work for not the best pay in the industry but overall good company. Let me also say that now is NOT the time to get into the intermodal side of trucking you will not do good. I left back in Oct 08 for a better job and still stay in contact with friends I made while hauling containers and its really bad slow right now. I would tell you in a second to work for comtrack when things pick-up
