Hubby is off to Truck Driving School, and we saw Schneider has CPAP hookups on their trucks, so we figure it is accepted in the industry. For other trucking companies - what do they do? How do you run your CPAP in the truck when sleeping?
the also make 12v cords for these machines. SNI gave me this cord. Prior to that I used a 300 w inveter. The biggest SNI allows. SNI is one of the leaders in the industry with a heck of a program for CPAP users.
CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure. Basically, it is a machine which blows a little air up your nose and/or mouth when you sleep. Those of us with sleep apnea our airways close, we don't breathe correctly, and although we are "sleeping", we don't recieve many of the positive benefits of sleep. With the machines we breathe and get restful sleep.
sounds like i could use one of those. how yuou go about getting one. can you just buy one or they expensive.
you need to get a sleep study done. Some companies offer it, but mainly you need to be referred by your doctor to a sleep lab.
I run mine off a small inverter when parked with the engine off. The built in one in this truck cuts out when the ignition is off so I use the backup when not idling. Stays on all night without draining the battery. I don't have an electric humidifier which helps.
should one wait till hes intrucking business before he starts going to dr about sleep apeana. couldnt it raise a flag.
