This is just a daily occurence a trucker has to deal with. Sometimes this is unavoidable if the driver of the car is that much in a hurry.

well, at least in this instance the idiot was good enough to kill himself, and not anyone else. too often the idiot (reckless, dui, etc) driver has the gall to kill others and live through it himself. good on him for taking himself out and not bringing others with him.

Wait till the FMCSA reads this story. I can see it now.

Highway bill "screw everything else up"

    1. Trucks permitted to move on shoulders only except when the shoulder is blocked by a broke down vehicle

    2. Trucks on shoulder only permitted to move at 10 mph.

    3. Trucks are no longer permitted to have a live driver behind the wheel we will be requiring full computer control so driver error can be eliminated.

Yet another accident where the 4 wheeler was at fault and the truck drivers will pay for it. Yet they havn't mandated that every drivers ed class is required to have a minimum of 20 hours of truck safety taught by an ACTUAL truck driver. Nor have they mandated that a truck should be at every drivers ed class, and EVERY student should be required to get in the truck in order to see what we drivers see. And god forbid they make 4 wheelers go through the same headaches we do and monitor their hours behind the wheel, make them get a physical to make sure they're capable of driving, and all that b.s. Hell if the government needs more money that's all they'd have to do regulate the 4 wheelers.

I had a moron today take the shoulder to pass a car in the hammer, then shoot 3 lanes over in front of said car, myself, and another rig to take an exit.....

Is it bad of me if I hoped he got into a one car accident?

that happened @ 15 miles from the house. 95 isn't the best road here in Texas, I get to drive it at least once a week from home up to Temple, hits I-35 at about the 305 mile mark. in that 60 +/- miles speed ranges from 40 mph up to 70 mph. Every Saturday that i'm on it, i see lotsa impatient 4 wheelers. my prayers go out to that kids family as well as the family of the Drivers. what a nightmare.
