Buy one that covers 3/4 sides and is motion activated for when you are away from the truck

I can second Roavs. I’ve got 2 and my sister got one for her new car. I did worry about the gps mount and stressing the cables, but I just got a second one for my rentals.

When I drive a truck, I will definitely use my dashcam. Dashcams are life savers. In my Uber car, I have two dashcams, one for road ahead, and one for traffic behind me. I have two seperate Garmin dashcams, with 256 GB storage in each.

I have a Drivepro Transcend 230. I'm not very technical savvy but it's simple to use. Just download the app and you can view/save any footage on your smart phone. Stays rolling 24/7.

In trucking, the idea of a dashcam is to record a collision. That's what my little trucking brain thinks. So I may be wrong. If I am right, then you don't need a lot of storage. A 64 GB SD Card should be enough. In Uber and taxi, we record our passengers too in case a bad passenger reports some false thing against us.
