What is a good dash cam? One that can read a license plate at night clearly.

Get an Auto Capsule. It is expensive $300 or less. But it is the best

I'm thinking you can't download video from dash cam to a droid device?

The whole trend is away from PCs and laptops and towards people only being able to afford smartphones. If your budget only allows you to have a flip phone and a cheap PC with the other option being a smartphone almost everyone would opt for the smart phone.

I have experience with 3 brands/models of dash cams. The G1W, OldShark and my current and best liked is the Vantrue X1. In all three cases they use a micro USB port to transfer files. Since I have a PC I only need a cable with a micro USB connection on one end and a micro USB connection on the other. If I wanted to transfer to my i-phone i would just go to Amazon and order a cable like this below:
    https://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Ch...&keywords=apple+cables+for+iphone+6+micro+usb

The other option is to get a dash cam with WiFi which at one time I thought would be good to have until I read reviews that you need to PURCHASE the app for your smart phone in order for the WiFi to work and I am definitely TOO CHEAP to purchase the app. .
