The one I have continuously records. I don't have anything to do with it except when I turn it on each time I start driving. I will not intentionally record any LEO's.

The good thing about owning your own "dashcam" is, if you cause an accident, you don't have to turn in the video.

Why would it be illegal to vid cops? We've all been told that there is no expectation of privacy in public. :biggrin_2554:
I was thinking it would be a double-edged sword in that it would show that ###### who brake-checked you just as it would show your bad driving. Do any companies have published policies?

    Badge.... Gun.... Donut.

I'm getting one as soon as a few other things are taken care of. I explore this in detail and came to the conclusion that short of buying the $3000 police system, the Go Pro 2 does great in both daylight and night time applications. From all the example videos I looked at and Youtube vids I saw, the GoPro 2 was the best quality video.

Why? Well it depends on what the voters of a particular state let their legislature get away with.

Legality? It depends on the state. Illinois, for instance has a "no recording cops" law that can send you to jail for doing so. It was designed with cell-phone cameras in mind and does not affect dash cams if you inform him that you have a dash liability cam and that you turned it off when he pulled you over.

The GoPro2 is good quality, but it only records for up to 4 hours and does not continuously record. Thats a problem...

I am curious how this product will perform coz I can't find anyone who has it to ask. On the website is all "extraordinary" but I would rather listen to someone who has it for real. http://www.windshieldcam.com/

If you have an android phone, try Car BlackBox Alpha. It's a free app. Records last 5 mins in loops. Does the job for me.
