I love my RoadKing Classic. Solid radio and has a surprisingly good range ( heald a 20 minute convo with a base station on in Peroria I76 for a good 30 minutes) was sad to see it dead keying....

Anyways I had it set to PA instead of CB

I don't understand what you are talking about. Deadkey what?

By the way - range is all about the antenna, not the radio.

OK transmit is dead. take it to a shop, that's all I can tell you to do. Have them check the antenna; just because you can hear, doesn't mean it works on transmit.

Are you saying you had a 30 minute conversation while the cb/pa switch was in pa mode? If so I don't think the meters needle moves in pa mode. Not sure how the radio can transmit RF in pa mode, unless someone worked on the radio and installed the cb/pa switch upside down.

The joke is that he wasn't getting any output and was going to put in a new radio and then saw that the switch was on PA instead of CB so it was fixed with a flip of a switch.

Thanks for clearing that up. After re-reading his post, that makes sense now. The way he worded it made everyone think he had a problem with his radio when he really didn't.

I was confused that he had a 20 minute conversation for 30 minutes.
