back in the day. i had hp. compaq. and toshiba for the last 10 years.
back in the day. i could type, type, and type some more.

today, i've had dell, toshiba twice, and acer netbook. within 12 months. yep, being a trucker they are prone to accidental damage. LOL.

my dillemma is this. I CAN'T TYPE. teh dang cursor keeps jumping around inside the box and i'm constantly correcting my sentences.

back in the day. that problem didn't exist.

are there no decent laptops that can type like the good old days anymore? i'm ready to give up on owning laptops anymore. THEY ALL SUCK. although my toshibas weren't that bad. the acer and dell i'm ready to stick em under the tires and drive over them.

I'm having good luck with Lenovo, I bought a pair of used ones a couple years ago so my wife could have the heavy, multimedia one I bought new first, and they have had few problems, even though they have interface with a destructive cat.

I'm not a fan of consumer grade computers anymore, too many accidents happen carrying one around in a truck.

My first laptop was a acer, and I have had nothing but problems with it. The hubby uses it to watch videos on in the truck, and that's about it because he uses his smartphone for everything else. I bought a HP...and I love it. I have not had nearly the problems I had with the acer. Now if they could just make a TIMEX laptop...that would take a licken...and just keep on ticken.

    i don't do macs.

i just want a laptop that ii can type without the dang cursor jumping around the dang screen.

gets really annoying when it jumps back and messes up your previously typed sentences

I have a HP G60 from 2007 Xmas. Has done great so far. I use a cooling fan under it though because it gets awfull hot on the bottom. I think the new ones run cooler. It has AMD Turion x2, Vista and Microsoft upgrade for xcel, etc. I have a lot of games on it.

It does have where you can turn the touchpad off, I use a wireless mouse all the time. Husband has a new one and I don't think the mouse turns off, but didn't have time to real check it all out.

I like my silver keyboard I think better than the dark ones.

It has so far held up with 3 kids using it and two baby girls attacks. Dropped one by #2grandson and costed $140. to replace the screen that got cracked.

But you know there is always a chance to get one that doesn't do right by you. This is my first laptop.
