I am starting school Monday morning. 10 years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and along with losing a ton of weight I also got a hernia. My Surgeon/Doctor has told me that I can live a normal life with it and at some point I will want to get it taken care of. The hernia is big it is in my stomach. I am going on Monday for my DOT Physical I have a letter from my doctor that states this in no way shape or form I would hurt myself from lifting up to 75 pounds. Is a note from my personal Surgeon/Doctor going to be any good or do I still run the risk of failing the Physical?
you might be told to get that hernia fixed before you get hired. the company will be looking at workman's comp claims or law suits, if you DO NOT get the hernia fixed, should you injure yourself in the future.
I just came back from my Doctor today and what is bulging out of my stomach are the intestines that my body no longer uses. When I had the surgery they are kept incase it ever has to be reversed. I do have a letter from him that states this in no way will affect my ability to preform driving a rig. I just hope it is enough.
just dnt mention it to them and they will never know.somtimes the less they know the better off you are.
As long as you have a note from your physician you should be fine. Other than that they just want to make sure you are breathing. Now there is a difference between your DOT physical and the company wellness exam.
What exactly is the company wellness exam? I will be training with Werner. Anybody have any information about there wellness exam?
