Humm ... I just went for a return to work physical at concentra .
After 12 weeks family time and two minor surgeries ...
The doctor gave me the physical .... neck measured ... BP a little high ...passed after 2 nd check etc.etc .
Then she tells me I need to get 2 forms filled out ... I believe full duty return to work dot forms ...I think .
Ok I go ... one docs out of town ...got filled out turned in .
Then ...expecting a card ... they call me up and want something else ...as they explain over the phone a release to fully work from both doctors ... a note ... any one have a clue ?

Those physicals are goofy, before I have one done I go to the eye doctor and get my eyes checked my drivers license expires in May so before it expires I'll be going to the eye doctor and getting another physical.

I bet Mike 2633 has to have a eye exam for his Physical to aid in passing. My dad had to do same. A specialists opinion type thing.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

I have to have the right glasses in order to pass the eye chart. They take your blood pressure, weight, height, check your eyes and ears.
They check your reflexes and check for hernia the whole deal.
    Some also check for diabetes.

Eye exam is different than the physical for DOT. I wear glasses and yes they should be the correct vision, but then once that is done you have to go to an Approved DOT Medical Dr.

Concentra is a rip off. They mysteriously heard a heart murmur in me. Said I needed a stress test and ekg done all that stuff. Went to my doctor I absolutely started laughing asking me over again what they said. My doctor listened to my heart then asked me how old I was told him I was 44. Now I played sports was in the milarty for 6 years in a very physically demanding job. He goes if that's the case you'd be dead now for about 30 years if wasn't treated. Then he got pissed and asked for all stuff about the doctor and reported them to the state. My doctor gave me a 2 year card.
    I'd just go somewhere else

Every DOT physical I've had over the last 6 years has been different.
No one does it the same way or by any set rules as far as I can tell.

The biggest difference is between manual and digital - real vs. fake.
A BP cuff that is pumped vs. a machine. An eye chart at the proper distance vs. a machine. That sort of thing.

In this round I had an eye test with a machine. I could achieve 20/30 vision.
Good enough to pass, but with an actual eye chart at the proper distance I can achieve 20/20.
My eyes don't focus so well at shorter distances these days, and that is what the machine makes me do.

In the last several years the first BP test is done with a machine. I have always failed it the first couple times, but when it is done with the cuff I passed.
This time it was done with the cuff the first time, and I passed with the first test.

Very seldom has anyone actually listened to my heart. They usually take a reading from something else.
Sometimes the BP reading, this time from a thing she put on my finger.

But no place seems to have the same standards as the next.

About half of population has a heart murmur.
