You still may have to take a sleep test, it's a weird vague odd thing that nobody understands.
If they give you a questionnaire about sleep, answer no to everything, unless it's a trick question.

No DOT test I ever took required a sleep test. Be vague on your answers yet honest. If a doctor didnt prove it, the answer is always no.

Many of us have it, but keep it a secret.
If you pass the DOT physical for cdl school, then hire on with a company that doesn't require another physical; they will accept your cdl school physical.
Many drivers pass a physical for cdl school, then flunk the physical at the trucking company. They should have asked questions like you just did before taking another physical.

Dot physical doesn't require it unless the trucking company wants you to get tested for it.

If you have already been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, then you must answer truthfully on the DOT medical form. If you are using any type of device to treat sleep apnea, then you need to bring proof of use of the device to your DOT physical.

Trump hasn't done squat for truck drivers. Stop believing that whoever is President matters. None of them is willing to take on the real masters of our industry, insurance companies and megas that can afford top dollar lobbyists. They've been rolling out regulations since 1991 with the CDL. They probably think it's amusing that we blame Presidents for what goes on in the truck business... elogs? That's certain megas trying to kneecap the competition and make everyone the same which is a game they win. Governed trucks and wacky expiring experience requirements, that's the insurance companies.. Obama or Trump makes no difference, neither has trucks at the top of their agenda and neither is willing to take on the real masters and the Congressmen they own.
