Anyone out there using DriveELD? based out of Iowa...website is functional but you cannot purchase the unit on the website...they have an answering service which I have now called 3 times this week at various times of day but can't get through to the company itself. Anyone using it and thoughts? It is inexpensive and simple and I am an o/o just trying to not spend a fortune to be compliant.
Well, if it takes that much effort to give them money, what do you think it would take if something is wrong......
They just Notified me yesterday that they are discontinuing services march 2022 now I have to find another eld.
Used DriveELD since Feb of 2020. No problems here. But as mentioned, they are closing. They recomend HOS 247 as a replacement provider and the DriveELD device works with their system.
You are not even funny. It's like me is coming to McD and asking 4 times to sell me a meal. There are BKing, Wendies, blah blah many things to choose from.
I enjoyed drive eld and just activated HOS24/7. Its not as user friendly and the big issue I have is the way it calculates the split sleeper. If you take the 2 hour break first it continues to count down the 14 hour clock. It will actually put you in violation of hours until you take the other 8 hours and then removes the violation? I'm a bit new to trucking and drive eld is the only eld I have ever used. However, I really enjoyed that aspect of drive eld. Does anybody know if another eld exists that stops the 14 hour clock after 2 hour sleeper like drive eld?
The one I use doesn't pause any breaks, long or short, and it cleans up the 'violations' after supplying the correct number of hours on lines 3 or 4, and the longer one must be line 3 continuous. Not going into how to split break here. If you know how, it should be right.
HOS 247 is a lot more expensive than Drive was as well as Big Road. Looks like I'm switching to Big Road.
