ones that are NOT prescribed to you? seriously, there can be a few that ALL companies may not allow. what are you on now, so we can look up the charts to see what is acceptable for driving or not?

That is a mental health medicine. Either severe anxiety (Trucking IS anxiety squared...) or obsessive compulsive. (Hoping it's not that gambling.../snark) As of Jan 1 2018 pain medicine is not allowed. And it goes without saying any OTC medicine with alcohol in it is not allowed. If you are injured and need pain medicine, you will discover under CDC guidelines you get 7 days and that's it. A referrall to a pain clinic is next. You cannot drive until you have been off all of that medicine a certain amount of time since the last dose which would be upwards of a week to clear it out of your system. There are medicines alternative to narcotics which work for some and are legal for driving. Then again the nature of the injury bad enough to require it will impact trucking. If you are that sick you will not be rolling a big rig any time soon generally. FMCSA also states that there is a listing of drugs that DQ truckers in schedule one (Automatic, includes Pot even if it's state legal, it's still banned at federal level) and schedules two is abuse potential for addiction and schedule three less so but still need a doctor. You cannot in all things outside of trucking be without a original bottle with the prescription on it and a proper pill count remaining against your refill date. And generally there is a risk of DUI in a vehicle. In a big truck that's even worse. Really bad. Many states confiscate your vehicle like ours do if you are caught with DUI arrest. You will not see that vehicle ever again, ownership or status of payments etc does not matter. it's gone. And fines approach 10,000 dollars and that's just the beginning. If you are taking drugs associated with mental health that's a greater problem than just a ow. IF something happens and it comes out in court you have to have this medicine for a diagnosis you will be prosecuted and the company that allows it knowingly or in secret will also stand to be prosecuted as well. It's not worth the risk. Either stop the medicines and settle the issues or stop trucking and be taken care of with the doctor at home doing something else.

Pretty sure any type seizure medications are ban. Wish they would remove marijuana I know that would have helped me tremendously driving around LA.. lol
