Working on a load from the Cleveland, OH, port that requires a TWIC card or escort. They only accept EFS checks for an escort. Haven't done this before so looking at the particulars. Where can I pick up EFS checks? Anything else important that I should know?

Stop at any truck stop and ask for a few EFS checks. They're free. Sometimes they complain about giving out any more than just 1. No idea why. You'll need to be able to load the check with funds. I have a company issued EFS fuel card so it's easy to do with a phone call and few prompts. Not sure how or if you can load one otherwise.

You can pick up EFS checks at most truck stops, and they are free. If you are not set up with EFS, the broker needs to issue you a money code for the amount.

Check to see if the broker charges you a fee to load funds on that EFS check. Most of them do. Negotiate it to no fee and get that on the rate con if you can.

That is the best username I've ever seen on here. I love me some Arlo Guthrie.
