Is there a law stating that we can't have fire and Police scanners in our trucks?

It depends on the state. Some states don't allow them in CMV's, some don't allow them in any vehicle, and some could care less.

Thanks, I know that MI has changed it to allow them according to a State trooper friend. It has helped me to reroute a couple of times because of accidents,

Section 750.508 of the Mich Code in May of 2006, the law did away with making it illegal to have a scanner in the CMV unless you are a Felon in the last 5 years, or in the process of committing a crime.

Has no bearing what ever. It is aimed at the CMV.

Yep...I remember back in the good old days...used to respond to fire calls with my 72 feet of equipment...NOT!

Why would you even carry a scanner, or even your call pager if yuo are working in a big rig...even a local daycab with a pup...makes no sense to me!
