Enddump

How was your first week? One last bit of advice roll your window down when dumping. Just in case you do roll over hate to bang your head on the window

 

I'm a month in to end dumps and I'm getting more comfortable every day, but compared to other guys, I'm way too slow. I got yelled at last week for taking too long, oh well I told him. It's not his license or career on the line.

Did the OP ever say where he was or what he'd be hauling?

 

Hi fellas and maybe some lady’s. I’m a heavy hauler from Long Island. If I’m not mistaken abyliks is from Mass. which is a heavy haul state. Not as heavy as LI but close. We can run as much as 120k. My concern with sending the trailer all the way up before moving it is you can bury the rear axle which will create a sizable hump to pull over. Me personally, I ease away from the load as it’s coming out. As most of us have told you, it’s very important to be level, but most importantly is that the hinge pin be as level as possible. That’s your most vulnerable point. I’m sure by now you’re getting more comfortable by the day. Many of us here have given good advise. Take it and enjoy your new venture. Oh by the way try not to send the trailer up too fast, you can cavatate the pump if you keep doing it. Best of luck

 

I don’t wait till the trailer is all the way up either. However I think most recommend that because a trailer is less likely to tip if the nose is empty. For me I flip the brakes at the top of the third stage and bring the trailer to me. I also try to stop before the cylinder reaches top and ease out. I also raise my bed slow in a effort to keep my pile tighter unless it’s scrap then I don’t care if it’s a long pile
