I have a presentation to do for my ethics class. I'm supposed to talk about these devices and how they ensure that truckers 'obey laws requiring rest breaks'.

I've been looking for advantages and disadvantages to make my decisions, but I don't know enough about trucking laws.

What do you think about it, are you for or against EORBs and why? What do you think are the good and bad aspects of EORBs?

On the ethical side.....I'm all for it with a small caveat....

I have yet to be convinced that the NAFTA trucks will have them....Just like being CARB compliant....

All of the spokesholes for the Obama administration claim they will have to meet the same standards.....but if you read the NAFTA agreements.....there are no provisions to enforce them......

And if they were in the provisions.....Why would OOIDA and the ATA be in opposition of NAFTA rigs coming to the US.....especially the ATA, who often sides with the "Big Guns" of the industry versus the "One Horse" O/O's?

if absolutely everybody has to have them, then yes they might improve a few safety related aspects. But is this country ready to pay the price of the dramatically reduced capacity if every truck is running 100% no and if's or but's legal?

    ihford350 Thanks this.
